Speaker, Quick To Listen

Dr. Ethan Degner

Ethan grew up in St. Peter, MN, and attended Gustavus Adolphus College as an undergraduate, where he focused his studies on fisheries biology and aquatic ecology. A post-baccalaureate internship in Panama rekindled in him his childhood love for insects, and so he went on to conduct his doctoral studies in the Department of Entomology at Cornell University.

Ethan now teaches biology at Wisconsin Lutheran College, where he gets to teach about and conduct research in a few of his academic interests: marine biology, entomology, and ecology. Together, his time at secular institutions combined with his Lutheran upbringing and Christian convictions have shaped his outlook on the intersection of science and faith; he enjoys guiding students as they wrestle with issues in this arena.
